CAMOUFLAGE TATTOOING IN VICTORIA SW1
SCAR CAMOUFLAGE – SMALL SURGICAL SCARS
At our cosmetic beauty salon we will take time to discuss your scar camouflage requirements, assess your scarring and propose a cosmetic tattooing strategy to meet your needs. We will also advise you of the number of sessions you can expect your scar camouflage treatment to take and explain its procedure.
We then prepare a number of custom-blended pigments specifically for your skin tone.
We will apply local anaesthetic cream to make the procedure as comfortable as possible, helping you relax. Then using the tattooing pen to recolour your scar, and applying the pigments to recreate your natural skin tone.
We then apply a natural, healing balm and, if necessary, a light dressing. An aftercare pack will be provided to take home to aid the healing process. Healing time varies, but in most cases, after about five days the top layers of skin will have healed. The pigments will continue to settle under the top layers of skin for some time after this.
While scar camouflage is not suitable for every scar, it is ideal for almost all white and silvery coloured scars. We treat a wide range of scars, including those related to medical and cosmetic surgery, self harming, alopecia, vitiligo, accidents and burns. Scar camouflage is suitable for all nationalities and skin types.
A test patch is applied to your skin to check whether you have an allergic reaction to the pigment to be used. After that the colour will be chosen, based on advice and suggestions from the technician.
Using a hollow, vibrating needle, the technician will apply the chosen pigment to the top layer of the skin. A droplet of pigment is released into the hole the needle makes. This procedure is continued until the technician is satisfied the area to be treated is complete. You may at times feel a slight stinging sensation. It mat take up to three weeks for the pigmentation to fade to its permanent shade.
